Olympic Wrap-Up

In celebration of the Olympics we hosted a pong celebration with many of our friends. They hailed from nine nations: England, Sweden, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Iran, Canada, Jordan and of course the USA. As you can see, sport brings the people of the world together. Leaders across the globe, take note.

Although the UAE team did not come away with any medals this year, there were still a few notable highlights - Obaid Al Jasmi set a new national record and personal best in the 100m freestyle. Sheikha Maitha had a great taekwondo match against a South Korean who went on to win the gold. Other countries in the region also did well - Iran took its first gold in the men's 80kg taekwondo, Bahrain took its first gold in the men's 1500m run, and Tunisia took a gold in the men's 1500m freestyle.
